Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

BetDivision (Pty) Ltd (registration 2026/087518/07) operates the BetDivision affiliate tracking and analytics API ("the Service"). This policy explains what personal information we process, why we process it, and the choices you have. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, where our clients operate in the EU or UK, we act as a processor under the GDPR.

1. Who is responsible

For information you give us directly — account details, billing data, support correspondence — we are the responsible party. For end-user tracking data that our clients push into the API, our client is the responsible party and we act strictly as an operator (processor) on their documented instructions.

2. What we process

  • Account data: name, business name, work email, telephone number, company registration and VAT details, API credentials.
  • Affiliate data: partner identifiers, payout details, commission agreements and performance history submitted by our clients.
  • Tracking data: click identifiers, referral source, campaign and creative IDs, hashed or pseudonymised user references, device and browser type, coarse geolocation derived from IP, and conversion events such as registration or deposit signals.
  • Technical logs: IP address, timestamps, request paths, response codes and rate-limit counters, retained for security and billing accuracy.
  • Website data: the enquiry form on this site collects the name, email, telephone number and message you submit.

We do not knowingly process data relating to persons under 18, and the Service must not be used to track minors. We do not process special personal information as defined in POPIA.

3. Why we process it

To create and administer accounts; to attribute traffic and calculate commissions; to produce analytics and reporting; to detect fraud, bot traffic and incentivised abuse; to invoice and take payment; to provide support; to meet legal, tax, anti-money-laundering and gambling-regulatory obligations; and to secure the platform. Our lawful bases are contractual necessity, legitimate interest in operating a secure and accurate attribution platform, legal obligation, and consent where consent is required.

4. Sharing

We share personal information with the client whose account the data belongs to; with sub-processors that host, monitor or deliver the Service (cloud infrastructure, error monitoring, email delivery, payment processing) under written agreements; with professional advisors; and with regulators or law enforcement where we are legally compelled. We never sell personal information and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

5. Cross-border transfers

Our infrastructure may process data outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on a lawful transfer mechanism under section 72 of POPIA — typically a binding contract imposing equivalent protection, or transfer to a jurisdiction with adequate law.

6. Retention

Tracking and conversion records are retained for the period our client instructs, and by default for 26 months, after which they are aggregated or deleted. Account and billing records are kept for at least five years where tax and company law require it. Technical logs are kept for up to 12 months.

7. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS, credentials are hashed, access is role-based and logged, and secrets are rotated. We run least-privilege access, environment separation and continuous monitoring. If a security compromise affects your personal information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by section 22 of POPIA.

8. Your rights

You may request access to your personal information, correction or deletion of it, an objection to processing, restriction of processing, or portability of data you supplied. Send requests to manager@betdivision.co.za; we respond within 30 days and may ask for proof of identity. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. Where we act as an operator, we will route your request to the responsible client.

9. Changes

We will post any material change on this page and update the date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised policy.
